NH Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) – Medical Task Force 1 is a self contained unit of volunteer doctors, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, EMTs, mental health professionals and non-medical personnel who are available to respond state wide with the primary mission of medical support to first responders at Weapons of Mass Destruction incidents. Other missions include medical support at hazardous materials incidents, mass casualty incidents, public health events and assisting hospitals during a surge event. The task force is an ESF 8 resource under the direction of the NH Dept of Health and Human Services. NH MMRS is also partnered with the Maine and Vermont MMRS Task Forces and able to provide mutual assistance if needed.
It is the mission of the New Hampshire Medical Task Force to provide the highest quality medical care possible to injured or sick emergency responders and citizens within the limits of available resources; to be prepared to respond by maintaining a professional membership, providing high quality training and equipping the Task Force to carry out assignments.
